Monday

Logann modeling her new pink, fuzzy boots.
Logann LOVES mac n' cheese with veggies.

Today, we got up early and headed out on our errands.  First, we dropped off our car for its service.  Next, we went to Home Depot (Doug's favorite place and a regular staple in our lives with this never-ending addition).  Then, we went to Costco to stock up on the usual stuff...salads, fruit, formula, snacks, etc.  Next, Doug and Logann dropped me off at my ob-gyn appointment and they went to the park.  They took me in early at my appt...that's a first!!  So far, I've gained a whopping 19 pounds:).  The baby is doing well; heart rate in the 140s.  And my belly measures in between 25-26 weeks.  Lastly, we headed out to lunch at B.J.'s.

In response to Annie's FYI:

I also love Emily on The Bachelor...that Michelle-not a nice lady!!

Logann's favorite book:

Product Details

It has very few words, mostly sounds...dogs barking.  I haven't exactly mastered it, but she seems to love my version;).

Lisa- I hope this helps a little;).

One Word...Yogurt;)

Logann is at the stage where she wants to try things on her own.  I figured I'd let her go for it.  How else is she going to learn?

First Park Adventure

Logann immediately went to a man's box for his airplane.  She examined it for him;)
She had a blast.  After an hour, she was too tired to walk around any more!!

10 Things You Might Not Know About Me (or maybe you do:)

This post is for Annie...

1.   I'm a germ-freak!!  Kind of weird for a nurse to be a germ-freak, but it's SO, SO true.
2.   I LOVE chai tea.
3.   I'm writing letters to Logann in a journal for her to have when she is older.
4.   I love to read sappy love stories...not the gross kind, the sweet, heart melting kind.
5.   I witnessed 9-11 first hand:(.  Sad, but true.
6.   I'm on the hall of fame in the UC Davis gym several times with my co-ed basketball team.
7.   I'm afraid of cats.  They totally creep me out.  Plus, they're so unpredictable.
8.   I have an uncle, who I've only met a couple of times.  He's severally disabled and has lived in a care home all his life.  I feel sad about this.
9.   I like to sing in the car, but I never know the words.
10. I LOVE playing monopoly on my I-phone...I might be addicted!

Shared Recipes

From the Hendericks Family:

Chicken Enchilada Dip
1-10 oz. canned white chicken breast
1- 8oz. package shredded cheddar cheese
1-8 oz. cream cheese (room temp)
1-4 oz. can diced green chiles (I use jalapenos)
1-8 oz jar mayo
Combine all ingredients with a mixer. Place in a 8 x 8 greased baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve with tortilla chips.

From the WONDERFUL cook/baker, Chelsey LaPray:

Caramel Apple Dip
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
About 1/2 package heath toffee bits
Cream first four ingredients with hand-held mixer. Then add heath toffee bits to the crunchiness of your liking. I found that 1/2 package is just enough crunch for me. Enjoy!!

From Keith G.:
Ingredients
4 Granny Smith apples, cut in half
1/4 cup olive or canola oil
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted cold butter, melted
8 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup granola
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup prepared caramel sauce, heated, optional

Directions
Heat the grill to medium.
Place apples in a medium bowl and toss with the oil. Place the apples on the grill, cut-side down and grill until nicely browned. Flip the apples over and continue to grill until nicely browned on skin side. Remove from the grill and allow to cool briefly.
Once they are cool enough to handle, core and cut the apples into wedges. Place the apple wedges into a bowl and toss with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 4 tablespoons light brown sugar and 1/2 stick melted butter.

In another bowl, toss together the remaining melted butter, cinnamon, light brown sugar and the granola.
Place 1 large scoop of ice cream into 4 bowls and top with the apple mixture. Sprinkle the granola mixture over the top of the apple and drizzle with some of the caramel sauce, if using.

Thank you so much for sharing!  Can't wait to try them:)

Week 24

So, this week our little baby is the length of an ear of corn!!  She is proportional and looks like a little tiny human:)  Weighing in at about 1.5 pounds.  Now, she is supposed to gain about 6 oz a week.  Isn't that so amazing?!

A little too quiet...

So, Logann's latest hobby is taking everything out of the pantry.  This morning she was very busy tossing things out left and right.  I didn't give it much thought until...she became a little too quiet;).  If you look closely, you'll notice some white powder all over her hands.  Yes, that's baking powder.  She found it, figured out how to open it, and was playing in it.  She was having the time of her life!!  This is such a fun stage.  Everything is exciting and new, even baking powder;).  I LOVE being her momma!!!

Week 23 (a day late)

So, I couldn't find a fruit or veggie comparison.  Everything just said that our baby is the size of a small baby doll!!  Weighing in at approximately 1 pound:)  Such a proud momma!

Sick Day

Today, Logann and I are home sick:(.  I feel so bad for her...her poor little nose is fire red from rubbing it.  What a helpless feeling to not be able to fix it!!  I'm so thankful that I can be home with her, though.  This way, I can make sure she stays nice and hydrated and as comfy as possible.  The good news is...I'm not sure she knows she's sick;).  She's been very busy already this morning.

She loves towels, which is the only word that she pronounces perfectly!!

Guilty Pleasure?

Normally, I'd say I'm pretty level headed when it comes to spending money and buying things for my Tootsie...this is the one exception:
UGG® Australia 'Bailey Button' Boot (Walker, Toddler, Little Kid & Big Kid)

Is this so wrong?  I just think that they are simply ADORABLE and can't resist!  Next year, little Logann will be rockin' the comfy, cozy, snuggly UGGs (if I can convince Doug, that is;).

Recipe Exchange

For those of you who know me, you know that making meals isn't exactly my forte.  But, I recently received a recipe exchange email.  So, I figured this is my chance to ask everyone for an EASY recipe that you can share!  Here's my one and only:

Turkey Meatloaf
1.5 lbs ground turkey
1 egg beaten
1 cup milk
1 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
1 cup bread crumbs

In a large bowl combine turkey and egg. Add the milk, mixing thoroughly. Add salt, pepper, and bread crumbs. Place into a lightly oiled glass loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Enjoy!

Week 22

Went to the doctor's on Monday.  Everything went well:  quad screen is VERY negative and my 20 week ultra sound looked great per my doctor.  I have to say that my pregnant life has been rather uneventful and let me tell you, I AM SO THANKFUL!!!  It seems like lately I've had way too many pregnant friends have issues (they're doing well now!).  It just helps me to not take "uneventful" for granted:).

PS
I just ADORE my little Logann!  She is growing leaps and bounds.  She has become quite the climber!!  I will try to catch her in action and post it soon;)
